Mississippi Theatre Association is embarking on a new endeavor to further promote quality theatre in Mississippi. Through a partnership with Mississippi Public Broadcasting, MTA will film a theatrical production that will air on MPB. Theatres performing at the MTA State festival will be considered for an opportunity to have their production professionally filmed and later aired on MPB.

To be eligible, theatres will need to indicate on their MTA Festival entry form that they are interested in participating in this project. First, consideration will be given to the top winners of the high school and community theatre awards at the MTA annual statewide theatre festival. Other consideration will also include content and appropriateness for airing on public television. Understanding the copyright implications, MTA will ask theatres to assist with obtaining the video rights for the filming of the production. Knowing that this is often a difficult task, theatres interested in this opportunity should also consider finding unpublished works that do not have copyright  restrictions.
