Theatre for Youth Festival
2007 Festival Awards
The 2007 Festival marked a dramatic increase in the number of theatres interested in participating in the Theatre for Youth Festival. Theatres participating this year included WINGS, Oak Grove High School, Biloxi High School, Clinton High School, Gulfport Little Theatre, and St. Martin High School. We continue to see quality productions presented at the festival and are proud of the fact that not only do high schools participate in this festival but also community theatres. Theatres that have an educational and youth program should consider participating in the 2008 Festival. It is a great opportunity to showcase your youth program and participate in the MTA festivities.
As an outreach component, children from surrounding schools attended the productions free of charge. In an effort to reward students for their hard work and dedication to theatre - the Theatre for Youth Festival presented awards to participants.
