Community Children' s Theatre is a 50 year-old voluntary organization that annually produces a play for area children. Members select the play, build sets, gather props, rehearse, make costumes, work spotlights, arrange reservations and more for the 10,000 plus children who see the play in late winter.

Mississippi Cultural Crossroads is the sponsor of Peanut Butter and Jelly Theater. This summer will be PB&J's 14th season of touring Mississippi and nearby states with the show "Be a Reader."

The show features interpretations of Aesop's Fables and several folk tales including "Willie and the Mess of Brains," "The Monkey and the Buzzard," and "The Possum and the Snake." The company will perform "play-party" songs and poems by Eloise Greenfield, Langston Hughes, and Shel Silverstein.
