Playwright George M. Calhoun in conjunction with the Mississippi Humanities Council shares his experience of turning true stories into theatrical drama.

Tumblin’ Down – A Journal’s Journey
Want to create a play from journals or diaries? Here’s how. What must be done? What are the pitfalls? Playwright G. M. Calhoun shares tricks and tips of fashioning true stories into theatrical drama. A representative from the Mississippi Humanities Council (MHC) tells how old interviews discovered new life through the Center for Oral History & Cultural Heritage. Included is a presentation of the end result, the commissioned one-act play TUMBLIN’ DOWN.  Free scripts of Tumblin’ Down will be available at the Keynote courtesy of the MHC.

 The Division meetings are very important to the ongoing development of your division.  During these meetings you will discuss with division chairs the festival and future direction of the division.  Everyone is encouraged to attend these meetings.
