2009 High School Drama Festival Awards
This weekend over 30 high schools competed in the High School Drama Festivals held at Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Having watched all of the productions, adjudicators had a difficult time selecting the top awards due to the high level of talent found in schools throughout the State. Following two-days of productions, hundreds of actors, crew members, directors, parents and friends, participated in the awards ceremony to find out who won the top awards. The top production winners advancing to the State Festival/Convention being held in Tupelo, MS at Tupelo Community Theatre on January 14-17, 2010 are:
North Regional Representatives:
- Corinth High School
- Lafayette High School
- Olive Branch High School
- Oxford High School
- Starkville High School
Complete listing of all of the North Mississsipi Awards
South Regional Representatives:
- Oak Grove High School
- Hattiesburg High School

Congratulations to all of the schools that participated in the 2009 High School Drama Festivals.
A special thanks to Jo and Wayne Durst, Melanie Harris, and Marianna Ulmer for hosting the North Festival and to Robin Carr, David Stellhorn, and Andreas Parker for hosting the South Festival. These festivals would not be possible without the dedication and hard work provided by these institutions!
